Can you turn a small historical clue or an unusual scientific question into a story a curious reader wants to finish? This page explains how to introduce your work to Hidden Chronicles.
Current opportunities
No specific paid vacancies are advertised on this page. Sending an introduction does not create an employment relationship, commission, or promise of a response. Any assignment must be agreed in writing before work begins.
What to include in a pitch
Use our contact form and begin your message with “Contributor pitch.” Describe your proposed story, the question it answers, why it matters to our readers, and the evidence you would use. Add links to two or three relevant examples of your work if available.
A focused idea is more useful than a broad topic. “How archaeologists identify an ancient harbor” gives us more to consider than “an article about ancient history.”
Work we can assess
Tell us about your subject knowledge, reporting experience, and any relationship with a person or organization involved in the story. Explain how you would verify claims, credit images, and distinguish documented facts from interpretation.
Please send a brief proposal rather than an unsolicited full manuscript. Do not include identity documents, bank details, confidential employer material, or sensitive personal information.
Before an assignment starts
Scope, deadlines, payment, attribution, editing, and publication rights need a written agreement. A pitch submission alone grants no permission to republish your completed work.
